Domaine des Miroirs Kenjiro Kagami les saugettes

The Jura massif was built by the detachment and then the folding of the sedimentary covers, 250 million years ago.
This characteristic limestone and muddy soil highlight the individuality of the earth, and Kenjiro Kagami thought it could be fully reflected and unique in the wines that have been said to be typical of the Jura, whose individuality has been typical of the Jura, and the general wines that do not have oxidative aging. When making their own wines, I was very attracted by these characteristics, which was a major factor in choosing the Jura country.

Our vineyards are located in a field overlooking the village of Gruss, surrounded by forests, where the old-fashioned landscape extends. This field, where grapes had been planted for generations until the 1950s, was gradually absorbed into the forest, due to work difficulties and low yields, which led people to abandon their grape making and move to fields where work could be done easily. This field, which had been abandoned and forested in the 1950s without herbicides, was the ideal environment for us when we planted the first grapes.

My last name Kagami, meaning Miroir in the French language, I wanted our wine to be a mirror that projects my philosophy, Only by carefully observing the characteristics of each plot, the surrounding natural environment, the weather, the flora and fauna that inhabit the surroundings, it is possible to grow grapes in harmony with them.

Today, four kinds of grapes are planted in our field. Varieties and acreage are
Chardonnay : Approx. 1.5ha
Savagnan : Approx. 1.1ha
Poulsard : Approx. 0.4ha
Trousseau : Approx. 0.2ha
