CMONVIN > Whisky Macallan 18 Year Old Triple Cask 2019 Release ENQUIRY Contact Customer Service ENQUIRY The Macallan distillery was founded by Alexander Reid, a barley farmer and teacher. The original name of the area was 'Maghellan', which came from the Gallic word 'magh', which means fertile soil, and 'Ellan', from the monk St Fillan, which was closely related to the church that stood in the grounds of The Macallan Estate until 1400. Farmers had already been making whisky on their Speyside farms for several centuries. 2018 saw the 18 year old also become an annual batch release, similar to the classic Sherry Oak Cask expression. 70cl/43%
