The original name of the area was 'Maghellan', which came from the Gallic word 'magh', which means fertile soil, and 'Ellan', from the monk St Fillan, which was closely related to the church that stood in the grounds of The Macallan Estate until 1400. Farmers had already been making whisky on their Speyside farms for several centuries. The Easter Elchies Seasonal Selection dates from 2005-2007 before the season aspects of the bottlings were removed. A very rare edition of Macallan 30 year old Matured in sherry Oak cask. 70cl/43%
