CMONVIN > Whisky Macallan Archival Series Folio 3 9,500€VAT EXCL Contact Customer Service The Macallan distillery was founded by Alexander Reid, a barley farmer and teacher. The original name of the area was 'Maghellan', which came from the Gallic word 'magh', which means fertile soil, and 'Ellan', from the monk St Fillan, which was closely related to the church that stood in the grounds of The Macallan Estate until 1400. Farmers had already been making whisky on their Speyside farms for several centuries. The theme of the Folio 3 is Macallan advertising campaigns from the 1980's and 1990's, and the presentation includes a book containing the best of these.
