CMONVIN > Whisky Macallan 1949 Millennium Decanter 50 Year Old 65,000€VAT EXCL Contact Customer Service The Macallan distillery was founded by Alexander Reid, a barley farmer and teacher. The original name of the area was 'Maghellan', which came from the Gallic word 'magh', which means fertile soil, and 'Ellan', from the monk St Fillan, which was closely related to the church that stood in the grounds of The Macallan Estate until 1400. Farmers had already been making whisky on their Speyside farms for several centuries. This was released by Macallan to commemorate the turn of the millennium. This whisky is among the most desirable and sought after whiskies on the market, and represents the most luxurious of Macallan, not only in presentation and quality, but also in rarity and age. 75cl/43%
